Many States and Municipalities have issued ‘Stay at Home’ or ‘Shelter in Place’ Orders. All of these Orders are very similar in that they are asking people to shelter in place, except for “Essential Businesses.”
GSG services customers that have been identified as “Essential Infrastructure” businesses and as an “Essential Business,” they are key to the continuum of the US supply chain of strategic goods. This criteria for critical infrastructure providers are defined under the Texas and U.S. Department of Homeland Security guidelines. Once identified as an “EB,” these businesses, like GSG are permitted to continue to operate. In addition, those businesses that provide essential products or services to them, are also permitted to operate. To that end, all GSG branch locations are open (see restrictions below) during this unprecedented time.
Those businesses that are continuing to operate under the exemption “EB” identification, are to implement social distancing guidelines and practices identified by the S.I.P.A. orders or guidelines. Please send an email to COVID19@GoGSG.com letting us know you are considered an “Essential Business” and are open and running.
The safety of our employees and customers is paramount to GSG, and because of safety concerns we took steps ten days ago by cleaning regularly all high traffic areas of our facilities, having anyone who could work from home do so, having our delivery drivers type in the name of the receiver, as opposed to that person signing for the order, and other pertinent safety precautions. Within the last few days we have implemented more precautionary procedures. Please find more information below.
In City Sales
Beginning yesterday, Monday, March 23, we began offering contactless curbside service at all of our locations. Orders can be placed either online at GoGSG.com or 800.366.1776. Your order will be waiting for you. Call us when you arrive, and we will deliver curbside.
If you arrive at a GSG location without placing an order prior to your arrival, a number will be posted on our City Sales door for you to call to place an order over the phone. We will be happy to pull the order while you remain in your vehicle.
Only GSG employees will be allowed in our facility, but we are determined to service you as fully as we can.
For Delivery
As we understand receiving the products you need is essential in running your projects, we are running our delivery routes, albeit adjusted for this ever-changing environment. We will leave your order at a door or dock. We will bring it as close to your desired location without coming inside your facility.
If placing an order over the phone, our Customer Service will confirm where you would like product delivered and it will be noted on your delivery ticket. If ordering online, please add delivery instructions to the order notes.

This unprecedented event, COVID 19, has dictated that we add precautions to ensure the health and safety of our customers and employees. Our preventative measures include:
- All Delivery and City Sales are to wear protective gloves and masks.
- We are practicing social distancing and requesting that our team ALWAYS keep the 6 feet distance from anyone.
All branches are open and prepared to provide you with the products and services you need, and we are doing everything possible to ensure your safety as well as our employees.
